Anyone that knows me well, knows that I LOVE to give homemade cards (where possible). There is something very special and personal about handing over a card you’ve taken time to create and no matter how artistic you are, let’s face it, they only take minutes to make!
I love using watercolours or cutting and sticking. If I’m encouraging Harry to design one then I have to make it a fun activity as he’s not always too willing.
I recently made my friend’s daughter her 2nd birthday card. I had some gold leaf left over so I wanted to begin with making it nice and shiny! Then I added some sketched balloons and candles and touched up with water colours.
My auntie’s card took around the same length of time- a jug of flowers which I painted. I get such pleasure from seeing someone open a homemade card…the appreciation is ten-fold.
