Yep, it’s that time again, the month of September marks Back to School and as usual comes creeping up ever so fast! We’ve only just touched British soil having spent the whole of August in rural France (I know, we’re super duper lucky!), the piles of washing still sitting sadly on the tops of our luggage bags…pairs of flip flops and traces of sand littering the house and now we’re consumed with the impending school run in a few days time. The joy of it all!
If like me, you’re secretly looking forward to getting a bit of routine up and running again, then why not start your organising now and have a peek at my Back to School edit for those last minute purchases. Then once you’ve ‘added to basket’ & clicked to ‘purchase’ you can sit back, flick through those holiday pics and reminisce on what a fun- filled, adventurous 6 weeks it’s been…The laundry can wait!
Harry is going into year 4 (why is this kid so grown up already?!!) and his school uniform has to be ‘by the book’ otherwise there’ll be trouble! Stanley however is beginning nursery at the end of September and can wear what he wants so we’re flexible to be a little creative and adventurous with his play clothes 😉
First up is this AWESOME rucksack.. You can’t begin nursery without your own big boy bag can you? After all, his ‘blanky’ will need to go with him for the first couple of weeks in case of tears and tantrums. Then there’s the change of clothes in case his picasso inspired painting ends up on his chest instead of the art easel!

When it comes to uniform, we always purchase Harry’s from Marks and Spencer’s. His school have a strict uniform policy, so aside from his jumper with the school logo, the quality and style M&S offer fits the bill perfectly. They always have a vast range throughout the year; winter options, summer options, outerwear, plimsoles, school shoes, socks, accessories and much more. These are our favourites:

Boden hands down always have the cutest appliqué t’shirts and tops. This fun double layered frog T also comes in two other playful designs. Perfect for showing off to your peers! Click HERE to buy.
If there’s one thing we’ve learnt since Harry started school 4 years ago, it’s that PRACTICAL school shoes win over STYLE! We go through a minimum of two pairs of shoes every school year- and no matter where you buy them, they’re by no means cheap! God knows how they get so battered but durability has to be at the top of your checklist when hunting for a suitable pair. This Clarks pair are a good choice for us because they’re not too ‘trainer-like’. Clarks always have an extensive range- click HERE to view.
For all you mummies who prefer, just as I do, to use the traditional method of pen to paper rather than a smartphone when filling in your day to day diary of school clubs and play date arrangements- then get yourself one of these! These gorgeous 17 month diaries from Tea and Kate will help you keep your whole family in check AND for planning your next girl’s night out…wink wink 😉 Get yours HERE!
