Tucked away on the Kent coastline is Cabü by the Sea: a collection of Cabins masterfully created to compliment the landscape in which they sit. These modular timber framed cabins are remarkably stylish and simple in design. Cabü is a place like no other in the UK. A holiday experience to tantalise the senses with it’s almost desert-like setting, sparse wild shrubbery and flowers, flat untouched rocky land, wooden architectural dwellings and all looking on to the concrete sea wall where there is direct access to the vast beach that stretches for miles.
The boys and I travelled on the train from London Bridge into a small village called ‘Sandling’ where we jumped in a taxi to St Mary’s Bay. Hidden beyond a large wooden panelled fence and electric gate is Cabü, mysteriously snuggled along the sea front. You wouldn’t even know it was there!
Greeted by on site manager Rachel, we were shown to our cabin ‘Ocean Shack’ which we were blown away with, before the boys and I swiftly changed into our swimwear so we could make the most of the on-site outdoor (heated) pool where the boys quickly made friends!!
In addition to the fantastic swimming pool (instant hit with the kids) surrounded by loungers and convenient outdoor shower, other facilities include a fully stocked shop. Here you will find local produce such as homemade jams, eggs, bread and milk as well as delicious pies (we bought these for dinner and they’re yummy!), cereals, ice-creams and a tuck shop! For all you BBQ buffs, there is a perfectly situated communal alfresco dining area with fire pits so you can knock up your finest flame-grilled burgers. There are also bikes for hire so you and your family can make the most of the coastal path and cycle your way into the nearest towns and nab yourself some fresh fish and chips!
Each cabin is individually unique in layout and demonstrates stunning interior design with pretty soft furnishings and details everywhere you look. Their wrap-around porches offer the perfect indoor/ outdoor living and a viewing platform for admiring the setting.
The boys and I went without Tye and only for 1 night, but we had such a lovely time and look forward to heading back there again soon as a family so we can make full use of what’s to offer.
I hope you get an opportunity to check Cabü out for yourselves because it’s one in a million 🥰
