We’ve never taken the boys to a festival but as budding campers and lovers of music and dancing under the stars, we’re letting CAMP BESTIVAL break our festival virginity and we cannot wait!
Camp Bestival celebrates it’s 10th birthday this year with the most fantastic theme yet: Pop stars and Rock stars!!
“Calling all budding pop stars, rock stars and divas! From the funk pop maestro Mark Ronson through to The Bootleg Beatles, the dubby techno majesty of Leftfield and our mates Dick and Dom right up to what should be a showstopper with a UK festival exclusive of Andrew Lloyd Webbers new musical, School of Rock on the main stage. Rock on!” Camp Bestival curator Rob da Bank
Set at the picturesque Lulworth Castle in Dorset, along the beautiful Jurassic Coastline, this award winning family festival is jam-packed with huge musical acts, exciting performances, children’s entertainment, fairground rides and apparently the largest most impressive disco ball in the world! With a variety of accomodation options, it’s the perfect place to dust off your tent, find a plot and set up your camping gear among fellow families all thinking the same thing ‘I hope my kids don’t keep everyone awake at night!’. However I have heard from friends that actually there’s no need to worry about that. The children are totally exhausted from all of the excitement of the day and late night ‘partying’ that everyone sleeps like a log! Phew 😉
We take the children camping at least twice a year, so we are no strangers to sleeping under canvas and shuffling around in the dark! Camping doesn’t always mean slumming it either. With the right kit and essential wet weather gear, you really can relax, enjoy and sleep comfortably. Camp Bestival promises to be a weekend of fun, for both adults and the children, so quality time spent for the whole family. Plenty of dad dancing, mum clapping, shape throwing and blowing bubbles…sounds fab right?
Headlining Friday night is the ever so talented Mark Ronson aMing others and the Saturday night line up has just been announced and headlining this year is none other than MADNESS- who will no doubt create some hysteria and kick off the birthday celebrations in true Pop and Rock style with some of their classics ‘Baggy Trousers’ and my favourite ‘House of Fun’!
So other than breaking the news to the boys that we’ll be going to a weekend long camping party and telling Stanley he’ll get a chance to see Mr Tumble, all that is needed between now and then is for me to work on my glittery outfits, dig out the spandex and start collecting essential rock star accessories!
Head over to the official website HERE to bag your early bird tickets now and you never know, maybe I’ll bump into you donning your Kylie Minogue hotpants!
