Last week I got a preview of what’s NEW for Spring Summer at NEXT and what a treat it was. At a central London location in a grand house was all that Next has to offer across the Home, Children’s, Men’s and Womenswear departments for this year’s Spring Summer. A culmination of everything beautiful to get you in the mood for the new season.
Next Home has really stepped up a gear yet again and was showcasing some big trends: very organic, global influences, botanical, full of texture and pattern, with an abundance of colour streaming through palettes of greens, burnt oranges and warm pinks. Beautiful chevron patterns adorned cushions and staple accessories demonstrating a tropical theme. Gorgeous pineapple lamps, stand out neon signs, floral soft furnishings and lush velvets. The green sofa was hands down my FAVOURITE. Followed swiftly by the black and white textured cushions. How uber cool are the neon signs?…set to make any room in your house ooze with style!
The second home story was so fresh, full of blue tones, coral accessories and bursting with patterns and designs inspired by the sea. Those floor planters are amazing and at such good price points with the smaller size only retailing at £40! I NEED ONE! Effortlessly styled and displayed ready to move into! This collection was pulling on all of the heart strings, I totally could have been in a summer house!
Then came a lilac colour story. Not my favourite if I’m honest, but very pretty all the same. Beautiful lighting, and stripes accross some soft furnishings.A peaceful colour palette creating tranquility and freshness.
Moving on to Children’s and let the cooing begin! What a gorgeous collection full of colour, playfulness, vibrancy and fun. Plenty of embroidered detailing throughout girl’s and boyswear, lovely floral, butterfly and bird designs, lots of inspiration taken from travel and holiday inspired prints. The old faithful Breton stripes provide the nautical feel and some fun slogans across basic T’s demonstrate a very quirky and youthful collection. Soft vintage denims are teamed with plenty of fresh and airy cotton pieces. Something for everyone. Oh and more Pinapples!
Womenswear was on point with the trends and demonstrated a full collection of beautifully designed key pieces and new exciting additions to your wardrobe. The accessories had me all giddy, stunning bags, sandals and heels…the RED ones in particular! I’m still dreaming about them 😉 Snake skin effects, ethnically inspired trims, chunky metalwork, metallics, pops of bright colours and strong global influences. Snippets of sequins and glitter adorned sweaters. Pretty feminin smock garments, embroidery details, lots of ruffles and tassels: it’s all about texture and detailing! Red, yellow, orange and blue were the dominant colours of the season. For the relaxed summer holiday look, think florals, bold prints and some geometric patterns. Occasionwear oozed with elegance in blush, gold and shades of crea with plenty of pretty delicate lace detailing.
Expect to see the Spring/ Summer collections filtering into NEXT stores from March 2017.
