If you’ve not noticed it these days already Marks and Spencer are totally on fire with their ranges! I remember back in the day M&S was typically where you’d find matching twin-sets, grandma slippers and knickers big enough to swing a cat in! Roll forward a decade and they’ve got the likes of Alexa Chung (model and super cool socialite) launching her very own collection and Rosie Huntington Whiteley showcasing the prettiest of lingerie.
Last week I had the pleasure of viewing the Spring Summer Womenswear and Accessories collections due to launch in February 2017 and they’re FAB! With a mix of neutral tones alongside a selection of bright and bold colours, printed items, plenty of stripes, casual denim, embroidery, bows and ruffles, there is plenty to take your fancy. Here are some of my TOP PICKS from the collection:
Bright mustard/canary yellow mid-length A-line dress with a brown mac belted at the waist. Team with a pair of sandals for a relaxed daytime look or high block heels, bejewelled clutch bag and a bright lippy for the evening.
This is a FUN neutral crew neck jumper with tassel detail, embroidered colour blocking and beaded trim- displaying lots of fabulous textures! Seen here with a pretty knee length blue striped skirt with asymmetric ruffle detail across the front. Very playful 😉
This look here is totally effortless and comfortable looking. Made up of a delicate white lace blouse with pin tucking down the front. Stonewashed jeans, light button-down trench with a rust colour cross-the-body bag. Tonally these items marry up perfectly!
Beautiful 3/4 length peach tulle skirt and denim jacket. Next season is big on embroidery and this jacket displays some pretty floral needlework in blue tones across the back shoulders and sleeves. Check out this soft leather Camel colour bucket bag too.
Blouses aren’t for everyone but in the last year I’ve been wearing them non-stop. These three white ones are absolutely lush! And remind me very much of styles you’d find in Cos. These are all quite statement pieces. This particular high neck, cuff sleeve blouse with ruffle details all along the sleeves has been styled with sleek striped wide leg trousers. With the blouse tucked in, it balances out the weight of the ruffle.
You’d have to be pretty brave to wear this look, but as two individual pieces, they’re pretty special. This flamboyant slash-neck white blouse with oversized and impressive tiered sleeves is such a stand out item! It’s been teamed here with a gorgeous palm leaf design 3/4 length skirt demonstrating cut-out laser work. You can see the weight and luxury of this skirt even through the photo. I love the vibrant red, blue and orange colours.
This shirt out of the three is probably my favourite. The tailored look is enhanced with these gorgeous large gold disc buttons providing such an understated but attractive detail. And I love the varying length of the front to back. It’s been styled here with some tailored grey trousers, but would look equally fab with some jeans!
I was so impressed with M&S’s AW16 collection of shoes and accessories and have been wearing my leopard printed bag with gold chain shoulder strap ALL season! The SS17 collection is GORGEOUS! Take a look at some of my FAV’s… They make me want to book my summer holiday!!
I’m absolutely loving the bright Pom and Tassle trims, leopard print (always wins my heart!) and soft leather. Not only are these sandals on my hot list, but check out the selection of heeled shoes on offer and these open toed sling back shoe-boots. HELLO metallics, pearls and zebra print…The details are second to none!
SEE NOW, BUY NOW!
As part of their ‘See now, Buy now’ collection, which is a preview of what’s to come next season, M&S have already launched (in store NOW) a small ‘taster’ collection. These are my top picks:
